Success Story: Transforming Connectivity and Engagement at One Utama Shopping Mall, Petaling Jaya


To address these needs, Synchroweb implemented the Kiwire Captive Portal Solution and Omaya Crowd Analytics, hosted in One Utama's centralized server room. The Kiwire platform enabled visitors to log in to the WiFi network via social media accounts or their OneCard credentials, creating a streamlined and user-friendly experience. Omaya Crowd's advanced IoT sensors were deployed to analyze footfall and visitor behavior, offering valuable insights into space utilization and visitor patterns.


The integration of Mikrotik devices facilitated smooth communication between the mall's WiFi network and the Kiwire platform, ensuring reliable performance and scalability. This setup allowed One Utama to collect and manage large amounts of data effectively, empowering their management team with actionable insights.


As a result, One Utama transformed its visitor experience by providing free, secure, and fast WiFi that seamlessly tied into the OneCard loyalty program. This integration encouraged greater user engagement with the OneCard application, strengthening customer loyalty. Additionally, the data collected through WiFi logins and Omaya Crowd Analytics enabled the mall to craft personalized marketing campaigns and optimize space management based on real-time visitor behavior.


This project marked a significant step in One Utama’s digital transformation journey, positioning it as a leader in adopting smart retail solutions to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency.
